Opening Remarks

Hi Everyone, I would like to thank everyone who made it to the Tableau©️ Saturday Colab Kaduna in person event, especially our host Sanusi Ismaila and tutor Peter Okwukogwu aka Pablo.

Peter took us on a journey through Youtube, Twitter, Tableau public, Tableau Desktop, and Python.

Similarities between Python and Tableau

We had gone through similarities between python and tableau in the last class and this class was a deep dive into the Tableau Interface.

History of data

We had discussions on the power of data, the cloud and he history of data, we also spoke on some of the motives behind the acquisition of Tableau, Slack, vlocity by Salesforce in 2019, 2020 respectively.

Introduction to Menus and the UI/UX of Tableau

He went on to introduce menus and the reason why UI/UX designers see how best for apps and programs to be appreciated and enjoyed by the user very little attrition.

We were shown similar menu items in Python as well.

We were also shown some visualizations by community members on Tableau Public and had access to some of their workbooks.

We experimented on some Menu bar items and also were reminded of the power of items and commands on the menu bars.

There were discussions on why excuses shouldn’t be part of what we deliver even though we were located in an interesting part of the world..

The data set on Tableau© certainly. is much more visually appealing, the data set on tableau can handle Excel files better, on tableau the data set can be analyzed as sheets you can also show tables is required on the spot. The data set can be put out either in ascending or descending order on the spot.
